TrendPimp recently sat down for a chat with Aaron Fessler, founder of the Vulcan Motor Club, a new exotic car club in New Jersey.

TrendPimp: What is Vulcan Motor Club, and where is it located?

Aaron Fessler: Vulcan Motor Club is a private membership club in New Jersey, providing members with a select fleet of the world’s most prestigious high-performance and luxury vehicles. We currently service the New York/New Jersey metropolitan areas, but we expect to expand the club to additional regions around the country in the near future.

TP: How does the club work? Do members pay a flat fee, or for each car they take out?

AF: Each member pays a flat annual fee each year and gets the keys to our private fleet. The club takes care of maintenance, storage, cleaning, depreciation, taxes, and insurance. We offer various membership packages to fit different budgets and needs. The Silver Package, which costs $9,500, offers the member up to 10 individual days of use, with an annual cap of 1,000 miles. The $14,500 Gold Package ups the ante to 20 days and 2,000 miles, while the $25,000 Platinum Package caps out at 40 days and 4,000 miles. Members pay a one-time application fee of $2,500. We are a little bit different than exotic car rental agencies; since our club members tend to know each other and we carefully vette each prospective new member, we're able to keep the fleet in unusually pristine condition.

TP: How many cars do you have, and what models are they?

AF: We currently have six cars: a Ford GT, a Ferrari F430, a Lamborghini Gallardo, an Aston Martin DB9, an Audi R8, and a Bentley Flying Spur. Each of the cars has something very unique to offer. The Ford GT is a low-slung American thoroughbred, with endless torque and awe-inspiring performance – delivering an almost unfathomable 550HP. The Aston Martin DB9 is a great mix of style and sophistication, and nicely straddles the line between high-octane sports car and classic GT. And at the other end of the spectrum, the Bentley Flying Spur is a private men’s club paradise on wheels (assuming your men's club is mounted on a 560 horsepower, twin-turbo W12). If I had to choose just one car from the club to take, however, it would be a toss-up between the Ferrari F430 and the Ford GT.

TP: What cars do you plan to add to your collection in the future?

AF: As the club continues to grow, we’ll add additional cars to the collection. Some of the cars we expect to add are a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, a Lamborghini Murcielago, a Maserati Gran Turismo, a Porsche Carrera GT, a Lotus Elise, a Maybach, and a Ferrari 599GTB. Another great thing about the club is how we regularly rotate cars through the club collection. As members grow tired of a particular car, we replace it with the hottest new cars. Last month we replaced our Porsche 911 Twin Turbo with the extremely exclusive Audi R8, and that has been quite popular. Club members absolutely love the fresh access to new cars.

TP: How is Vulcan different from other car clubs?

AF: We worked hard to make the club as accessible as possible to a great number of enthusiasts. Since we permit club members to split a membership with a friend, most people can get started in the club and get full access to the fleet for a few thousand dollars. Most of our membership packages include complimentary delivery to the member’s home or office; Friday afternoon we drop off a great car in your office parking lot, and Monday we pick it up. And we’ve set up the club with a really great private clubhouse, indoor secured parking, and a contemporary upscale lounge decked out with the latest in video games and big-screen entertainment.
