"What kind of swimwear should I buy?" This question passes your mind every summer. Most of you ignore it and stick with your old one that has no more elastic to it and a faded-out color that's no longer recognizable. Others just borrow one out of their father's closet which is another wrong choice when it suddenly falls off in the water because it is not the right size. The remainder of you wear regular shorts which don't sit well in the ocean or pool. Men's swimwear is a simple little item that everyone needs to have for the summer time but finding the right swimsuit seems to be such a difficult choice. There are four different cuts to men's swimwear, two of which you do buy and two of which you don't… It is that simple. The first two are the two that you don't buy unless you are a professional Olympic swimmer going for gold, the "Speedo" and the "Fitted Trunk". The two that you do wear are "Trunks" and "Board Shorts". Now the next question that sinks into your mind is what is the difference? There are many key differences between the two styles. The main difference that sets them apart is trunks have lining which acts as underwear and board shorts do not have a lining so you have to wear underwear underneath them. There are style differences between the two but that is the main difference that sets them apart.

Let's begin with some great new styles of trunks. Dolce and Gabbana make a great simple trunk. It has a low rise waist and is made from a cotton blend. This style has a mesh lining and a pocket that closes securely. It is black with two red stripes going down one side. It is simple and has a classic look. Another simple and classic trunk is the Prada striped swim trunk. The Prada trunk is black again and made from nylon. It has a secure back zip pocket. The black trunk has a thick blue stripe with a thinner blue stripe inside of it running along the front and down the side of the leg. The next swimming trunk I will suggest is the Fred Perry tipped trunk. This is a cobalt blue colored trunk with a flap pocket that is closeable on the back. There are white and green stripes that trim the shorts and a matching detail added to the pocket. The one unique trait this swimming trunk has is slit pockets on either side, so it feels like you are wearing casual shorts.

Next is the board short. Board shorts have more strength to them than swimming trunks. They are usually worn in the ocean while doing rougher sports so they need to resist the strength of the waves. One key difference is, unlike the simple elastic waist on trunks, board shorts will either have velcro, snaps, or ties to secure them at the waist. Hugo Boss's sporty board short is a great option. It is white with a button on the waist and has a side cargo pocket that has drainage mesh inside. It is detailed with sporty side stripes on the sides and inner thigh stripes. Another great choice would be the Diesel boxer board short. It is a simple black board short with an elastic waist and drawstring to secure it. It has a side cargo pocket again that is lined to drain. The simple black board short is top stitched with white all over to add a bit of detail to the basic Diesel image. The last board short is a very cool and simple design. The Boss Orange striped board short features a series of stripes placed on the board shorts to look like a modern grey short. It is secured at the waist by a drawstring and has a back pocket with secure closure.

These are all just a few great choices in the world of swimwear. Now that the world of trunks and board shorts has been simplified and clarified you can pick up a swimsuit and get ready for the hot weather! Beach attire is very important for your summer wardrobe so make a smart choice this year and choose the correct swimsuit for yourself.
